The Knewton Blog

On Monday a May Day rally took place in Union Square. As instruction moves from the lecture hall to the digital classroom, there’s an opportunity to create new learning interfaces, new ways to motivate our students, and new teaching methods. It’s Day 1 here in Vegas at the annual NAB Show (National Association of Broadcasters), and Ian Parker and I are ready to hit the ground running. As Knewton’s Team Video Team, we’re here to check out what’s new and exciting in the world of video, online and off — cameras, lights, microphones, and all kinds of systems designed for getting it into the hands of our students. We arrived mid-afternoon and were immediately overwhelmed… Read more

This post was written by Zlata Barshteyn, a former intern here at Knewton.  Every few months at Knewton, we have something called Hack Day, where team members take a day off from regular work tasks to tackle projects they’ve been itching to develop. These “hacks” typically fall into one of four categories: product, business, culture, or performance. A Robot for the Office For my Hack Day project, I worked with my mentor on building a… Read more
