Average Chicago Booth Business School GMAT Score
While there is no GMAT cut-off for Chicago Booth, you should be familiar with the general range of GMAT scores at the school:
Mean GMAT score:
- 715
Median GMAT score:
- 720
Middle 80% GMAT score:
- 660 to 760
If you want to be competitive for Chicago Booth, you should try to score 720 or higher and no lower than 660, though it is certainly possible to gain acceptance with a lower and even much lower score. While no GMAT score will technically exclude you from consideration for admission, a low GMAT score could raise a red flag.

Ultimately, the entire package matters (GMAT, work experience, application essays, interviews, recommendations, and undergraduate GPA). Since you are applying for business school, work experience is extremely important. Upon enrollment, the average amount of work experience for each student is approximately 4.5 years, which is fairly substantial.
You should also consider the brand of the school. The University of Chicago is an intellectual and academically rigorous school. In this sense, your GMAT score, GPA, and general passion about activities that involve analytical skill are all extremely significant factors in the admissions process. The Chicago Booth MBA program is also one of the most flexible in the world; Chicago generally includes several “blank pages” in the application which applicants are required to fill however they deem fit. You should make sure you have demonstrated (either explicitly or implicitly in your application) that you have the ability to take initiative and shape your own course of study.
I hate to say it, but Knewton has rendered every other test prep company totally obsolete.
