Serious Guarantee
Your best score will improve by at least 150 points or we’ll give you a full refund. All we ask is that you do the work.
Improve by at least 150 points or your course is free.

The best guarantee in SAT prep, hands down
If your score doesn’t improve by at least 150 points, you get a full refund. No hassles, no sneaky fine print. Just your money back. It’s even in our Terms and Conditions. All we ask is that you attend the classes and do the work.
What you’ll need to do
If you’ve taken the PSAT or SAT before, then your highest previous score (a PSAT score will be converted to the SAT scale) will serve as your baseline score. If you haven’t taken the SAT yet, you’ll take a diagnostic exam inside the paid course to establish your baseline before you access any other classes or practice problems.
In order to qualify for the guarantee, you must:
- Complete and upload answers to all five (5) required full-length practice tests
- Watch all ten (10) instant SAT lessons
- Complete all required homework for each session
How it works
After taking a Knewton SAT course and taking the SAT, if you don’t improve by at least 150 points and want to claim a refund, simply send us a copy of your score report. We’ll check your course history to make sure you did the required work, and if you qualify, we’ll issue a refund.

- How does the guarantee work?
- Simple. If you do the work and don’t gain at least 150 points on your score, we’ll refund 100% of your course fee. We’ll ask for a copy of your official score report, which we’ll compare to your previous score (if you have one) or your first Knewton practice test.
- Do I need books? Does it come with any books?
- Yes, you’ll need to purchase a copy of the Official SAT Guide by the College Board. We are unfortunately not authorized to include it with your course. Other than that book, the classes and other practice problems are online, which enables us to track your progress and make smart, targeted recommendations for what you should work on next.
- Is Knewton a new company?
- Knewton was founded in 2008, but our CEO, Jose Ferreira, has a long history with test prep: he is the only person ever to have developed test prep strategies so effective that Education Testing Services (ETS) was forced to remove an entire question type from an exam, admitting that he “broke the code.” He founded Knewton because he realized that computers and the internet could make learning much more personal and affordable through adaptive learning; we built our own platform from the ground up. Other companies still use older, linear methods of teaching.

What is the SAT?
The SAT is a standardized test used by colleges to measure students’ knowledge and skills. Almost all colleges use the SAT to help make admissions decisions. The test has three sections: Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. To learn more about how to prepare for the test, our SAT Study Guide is a great place to start.
1. SAT Writing Section
Watch 10 concentrated lessons, on your schedule
The Writing Section of the SAT consists of multiple-choice grammar questions and a 25-minute essay. To get your top scores, you’ll need to write stellar SAT essays and master the question types you’ll see across the writing section. Learn more about Improving Sentences, Identifying Sentence Errors, and Improving Paragraphs questions. Our SAT Writing Guide will help get you started.
2. SAT Reading Section
The Critical Reading section of the SAT has two types of questions: Sentence Completion and Reading Comprehension (also known as Passage-Based Reading). Wondering how to approach SAT passages? Knewton’s SAT Reading Guide will show you how to read more effectively—without slowing you down. Also check out this SAT vocabulary list of the 120 most frequently tested SAT vocab words.
3. SAT Math Section
The SAT Math section tests skills from the first few years of high school: geometry, basic algebra—and your ability to navigate word problems! To see what you need to know, check out our SAT Math Guide. You’ll learn more about the multiple-choice and student-produced response questions you’ll see on exam day.
